What that does and does not change

It does not change what we recommend. The clearest evidence is how often these pages tell you not to buy something: every setup page has a "what you can skip" section, every roundup says who should not buy the expert tier, and several pages say plainly that a big box store with installation attached is the better route for a plain tank replacement.
